Saturday Coffee

Author: Stephen W. Cote

Woke up Monday morning

With fog hanging low on the hills

An October sun was shining

And the air had a slight chill

My leaf is turning over

My motto has a fresh aroma

And it tastes bittersweet

The way change should be

I'm starting over today

But the coffee was brewed Saturday

And I drink it anyway

It more or less tastes the same

My leaf is turning over

But my motto has a stale aroma

And nothing has really changed

It's the same coffee from Saturday
