Poison (part 5)

Author: Stephen W. Cote

Effervese, proud and grand, big time raggedy man

Oh, to but laugh into your eyes do we long

Suckle on this noxious tongue and spit!

We no longer fear what we are able to laugh at, rat man

We waited on our knees, praying for the right words to come along

But the answer radiated from your ice cold heart, through tonsils and tits

Predators in wait, the chorus threads into a glissando of chimes

Slipping and sliding between the path of the venomous raggedy man

Carefree felines and canines meow and growl, fearing and loathing you

But we, the intelligently liberated, find time in the rhyme

To listen to the resounding sounds of your toxic tamberine and bleeding lamb

The few and the proud, you're in the big time, raggedy man

The glissando of predators lay low in thickets and weeds

Tasting and loathing the poison of your life and breath

Only a house proud town mouse, Mr. raggedy man

You duck-stepped through our lives and manufactured redundant needs

That we would not see through the pain you inflicted and seethed
