Summary

On the first page of my first poetry journal is the original version of Green. It is a very simple poem that I like more for its rhythm than its content. I made some slight modifications to the structure of the original poem before posting it, and even still it is a pretty juvenile attempt. Still, there is a quality about it that I like.

Nature's last color is green,

The red and blue are now unseen

And beneath the sun so serene

Comes an everlasting cold

Where nothing is seen of green.

Earthen land soldered deep,

Waves of seas crash and seep,

Feeding seeds to be reaped,

The green subsides beyond oceans deep.

Above the sky twinkle the stars

As I cast my gaze upon them afar

Burning and shining in seminar:

Nothing lives forever,

But the green outlives the stars.
