Summary
[ Content Index | Poetry Singles ]
While I was in the midst of a collections kick I started working on a collection of romance-related poetry.
I gave up after only a few verses as it was pretty gnarly stuff.
Although it seems pretty naive now, I decided to include it because I do like the idea behind the motivation of writing it in the first place.

My shelf sequesters memorable scribbles
My first ledger neatly printed with random precision
The lyrics were obsequious, but the essence true
A poetic betrayal of my spirit
Now, I languish behind tawdry hallucinations
Of a life assembled in fairytale land
Reorganizing my life day to day
Counting through the flickers in the eternal flames
Puritanical dream fairies passed by without a glance
Hearts and heads reconciled to another recourse
Permitting me to pass in the shadows of the swell
The misty quench of saline dreams consumed in agony
Alas, the ash affords no consumption
A new chapter, temperamental verse
Estranged from my pen so I might remember
The feeling we all share when we're sometimes in love
