The bleak white-metallic (cobalt; not the color) sky sets the mood. A dreary time, a dreary place. And the war has only just begun.
The soldier's wife experiences a presumed loss.
At the darkest hour, a strange occurence.
The Ranger finds a new reason to live.
The priest sees the errors of his ways.
The wizard ends the melee.
After winter, spring must come.
The ranger is a solitary hunter who is faced with a loss of faith.
The ranger is also faced with the ultimate loss of love.
The priest understands the unfortunate situation, but his faith is in the wrong place.
A grim visage from the war front.
From the point of view of a soldier at the front.
The wizard is the only one that knows what is going on, and also knows that he will be blamed for all of the foolishness that is afoot.
The soldier is the first to understand the errors of his ways.
Meanwhile, on the homefront, the soldier's wife now suffers.
